"He came home when I was almost done and suffice it to say, he wasn't thrilled with the idea. But when a neighbour came over and told him how great it was that he was putting in plumbing for his family, he quickly changed his mind."
This forward - and independent - thinking is what propelled Carl later in life as he started his own farm in the Quinte area and, even though there were plenty of naysayers, made it into a success.
